We're starting a summer reading program called "Catch the Reading Bug!" from July 8 through August 16

-This summer reading program is open to children of all reading abilities, from preschool through age 14.

Reading during the summer helps maintain and enhance reading and comprehension skills and vocabulary and develop a positive, enthusiastic attitude toward learning to read.

Children are asked to read at least five days a week. Parents, siblings or other caregivers may read to non-readers. Each week that readers meet  their goals, they will receive a small prize. More information on the program and the reading logs is available at the library.

The Strong library is going BUGGY with books about butterflies, bees, ladybugs and many other types of insects, as well as books about sports, history, animals, space, cars and big machines, fairy tales, poetry and lots of fiction.

LIBRARY BUCKS (for children under 12)

Every library visits earns you 1 library buck. Every time you take a book out and tell me one cool thing you read, you'll earn 3 library bucks.  Your ideas to make the library better will earn you a library buck, and if you bring a friend with you, you'll earn 3 library bucks!  When you get at least 15 library bucks, you can go into the Treasure Box and pick out goodies.

On August 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., author Pat Gott will meet readers and autograph her sequel to 'So You Want To be A Cowgirl?'

Quilt Square Raffle starts Friday, June 27th.

Come see the quilt square contest winning entry created by Dawn Pratt.
